West Pulaski Firefighters and PCSO Deputies were recognized 11/6/2020 by the Ferndale Crimewatch. Sheriff Eric Higgins and Fire Chief Scott Joblin and members of the departments are pictured here prior to joining a dinner at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church annual Fish Fry fundraiser for missions projects. We were happy to join the event that was a little different for us all this year as we practiced safe distancing and work masks. It is difficult to see our smiles behind our masks and the joy of great food provided by the church that combined their event with recognition of first responders that serve the community. Thank you to all that joined us and made donations of drinks and snacks that help feed an army of volunteers with snack foods and drinks that keep us going on those long calls for fires and more.
Rookie classes Intro and PPE were held this weekend. We had a great turnout of newer firefighters that are eager to be a part of the fire service and we are thrilled to have them join our firefighter family! Their journey is not over. It is only beginning and there is much to learn and practice to be ready for any call that might be given. But these folks have already shown great attitudes and energy to learn our ways. We look forward to helping them develop in to fantastic first responders.
