WPFD is out on a structure fire this morning near Kanis Road and Carnation Lane. Fire operations are underway and we have the road completely blocked for tanker operations at Kanis and Carnation.Lane. Please detour using Hwy 9 for a few hours since the road is blocked.
Update 6am: The road is now open.
Big THANKS to the many Fire Departments out to assist us on this call. With no water hydrants close enough (something really needed for a big fire fight) we had The Pulaski County tanker Taskforce bringing extra water to the fire and some extra manpower to this call to knock it down. Thanks Crystal Fire, East Pulaski Fire, North Pulaski Fire, Little Rock Fire, Collegeville Fire, Arch Street Fire, Lake Maumelle Fire, and Paron Fire
It is Fire Prevention Week and we are big believers that a little prevention goes a long way in saving lives and property. Please take just a minute to view these great reminders about safety in your home. Also, spending a little time with your family, especially kids, about fire prevention, having an escape plan, and learning what to do in an emergency is so valuable. Stay Safe!

Pulaski County has removed its Burn Ban effective this morning. Only Perry County in our fire district continues to have a Burn Ban. We still have not had significant rain in all areas so we ask that if you do any burning outside in Pulaski or Saline Counties, be safe, only burn natural materials, stay with your fire, and ensure it is extinguished before you leave it.
Stay Safe.
