Some residents in Perry County within the WPFD district coverage area were mistakenly mailed a statement requesting payment for annual Fire Dues in late 2023 (October). Any payments that were made based on these incorrect bills are currently being returned with a letter from WPFD. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Following the recent district annexation of the Perry County area that was approved at the end of 2023, these dues will be assessed by Perry County as a fee (not a tax) on your Real Estate Property Tax Statement going forward in 2024 and beyond.
Going forward, Perry County residents won’t be getting individual mailed invoices from us in 2024 or going forward due to the consolidated billing effort with Perry County.
This synchronizes our billing processes in Perry County to match what we do for most residents in Pulaski and Saline Counties of our fire district who live within 5 miles of a fire station.
Under Arkansas Law, the county assessors’ offices are allowed to collect dues on our behalf and they send the funds to us rather than us sending the usual billed invoices you are familiar with.
You should be able to see the amount associated with the Special Improvements area of your Perry County Property Tax Invoice where it should list West Pulaski Fire and our new billing amount of $95 annually (previously $50), as approved by voters in our fire district last summer.
